The Brecon Beacons in South Wales is beautiful and even more so at this time of year, as the colours change and the scenery becomes quite dramatic.
Louise is heading up this trip, which is set to be a little bit of a challenge and is for those with fairly good fitness. (If you are unsure, get in touch and we can work out if this is really for you)
Friday night – we’ll all meet up at YHA Brecon Beacons, a real nice laid-back place with a bar and a cosy fire. The rooms are ‘mixed’ dorms either 4 or 6 people. (We may be able to upgrade you for a fee to a private room, but depends on availability)
Saturday – we’re doing the big one, The Four Peaks. It’s a belter of a hike, but not for the feint-hearted. Taking in the summits of Fan-y-Big (no jokes LOLs), Cribyn, Pen-y-Fan and Corn Du, this walk will probably take about 7 hours and is pretty steep in places. In the evening we’ll collapse back at the hostel… but for those who still have energy left we’ll head out into the night to see Brecon’s famous dark skies. (If we get enough interest we’ll arrange a ‘star gazing guide’ at the nearby Libanus observatory, +£25)

Sunday – a slightly lazier start, but we are still going to do a really awesome hike. The Four Waterfalls trail is famous in the area and takes in some beautiful falls including one where you can walk behind it! The trail is not too challenging but takes just over 2 hours with plenty of opportunities for a cheeky dip in the river! (Feeling brave?!)
